The Abiding Rule
Abiding Rule
I cleave
You receive the
cleavage
I am drawn into
A petal forever
forgotten
As we the immortal
pose
A man and woman
Our delight
I recognise
my only hope
Is your perfect
perfect breath
I know the Lord is
watching
along with the
anarchy of
songbirds outside
I am tender
The drool of love is
the
richness of bread
broken
Maybe when we are
older
we will recite a
poem
once remembered
As it stands all
things between us
are driven from the
froth of the mouth
Like anti-bodies
with a disease
Or a bridge where
couples hold hands
The abiding rule is
love
